About Us Submissions
Spring 2006
Edited by Kevin Standifer
The moment we open our mouths to say hello to someone new, we never know how the association will end. It could be just a simple conversation, with words left unsaid; a brief flirtation, doomed to remain unfulfilled; or the beginning of a deeper connection. The characters in the following works are taking the first tentative steps toward bravely seeking out new connections; or they are struggling with the ones they've already created, trying to make more (or, in some unfortunate cases, less) of them. These writers explore every aspect of that personal connection, bringing their characters closer to euphoria, or that next uncertain hello.
